The Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County, The SYMPHONIA, South Florida’s Premier Chamber Orchestra and The Florida Intergenerational Orchestra proudly present "PICNIC IN THE PARK."

Principal Conductor Alastair Willis will guide you to the world of eighteenth-century Austria, as seen through the eyes of Joseph Haydn’s musical assistant at the Esterhazy Palace. Explore – through Willis’ dramatized perspective – what it was like living and working at the palace with Haydn for the Esterhazy family.

With Fauré and Devienne as guides, we will enjoy a musical adventure in France, followed by a trek to the fabled lochs and highlands of Scotland, courtesy of Mendelssohn.

Up Close & Personal, “BOX LUNCH IT with The SYMPHONIA” provides an uncommon experience, affording attendees with unique opportunities to increase their enjoyment and appreciation of the concert-going experience.

Tradition and innovation combine to elevate certain compositions, as clearly demonstrated by Patrick Harlin’s evocative soundscapes, the twilit atmosphere of Benjamin Britten’s work and the passion and creativity of Mozart’s final symphony.

The 2023-2024 Season picks up where we left off in celebration of the environment. Copland, Handel and Tchaikovsky all found inspiration in the natural world as does Jerod Tate, who, as the Washington Post says, has the rare ability to “effectively infuse classical music with American Indian nationalism.”

Principal Conductor Alastair Willis closes the season with Ethel Smyth’s overture to The Wreckers - a wildly romantic, stirring image of the sea and pirates; DiLorenzo’s Jabberwocky which is based on the nonsensical poem by Lewis Carroll and Beethoven’s glorious Pastoral Symphony.

Our longtime friend and concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra David Kim will lead The Symphonia performing Jessie Montgomery’s lively Voodoo Dolls, works by Kreisler and Mozart, and the virtuosic Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Astor Piazzolla.

If you missed it in December, you can catch Terra Nostra LIVE at The Studio at Mizner Park! Terra Nostra is a 30-minute multi-media symphony about climate change composed by Christophe Chagnard and a film by Charlie Spears. This performance will also include Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture.

Led by Principal Conductor, Alastair Willis, this concert will take in all the wonders of the Earth. Beginning at Fingal’s Cave off the west coast of Scotland with Mendelssohn’s evocative Hebrides Overture, we’ll continue with a mesmerizing visit to Syria with internationally renowned clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh, and conclude with Terra Nostra, an award-winning multimedia symphony by Christophe Chagnard that combines stunning visuals with the power of symphonic music and explores the impact and challenges of climate change.

The Symphonia has created a unique event, EARTH TO BOCA!, designed to draw attention through extraordinary music, accompanied by film, to some of the dedicated local environmental organizations who are working so hard on behalf of our South Florida Community.

We will ignite our new season with fiery works led by Andrés Cardenes, Conductor and Violin Soloist. Signs of Life II by Russell Peck, rich with engaging rhythms and gorgeous melodic lines, will be followed by Haydn’s exhilarating and volatile Symphony No. 59, nicknamed Fire and the concert concludes with Mozart’s striking and exotic Violin Concerto No. 5.

Maestro Alastair Willis will be back on the podium, and he is joined on stage by piano soloist Lindsay Garritson for a program filled with mystery and haunting beauty. The concert also features Mozart's Piano Concerto in C and Manuel de Falla’s suite from his sensuous ballet El Amor Brujo. What a way to cap the season!

Spring is in the air, and Laura Jackson leads the orchestra in a thrilling concert of works by Adolphe, Britten, and Beethoven, featuring piano soloist Marika Bournaki.

Grammy-nominated violinist and conductor Andrés Cárdenes' first appearance with the Symphonia is a dazzling, sensuous, all-strings program. Paganini’s dazzling Caprice No. 24 will open the concert, which will conclude with Mahler's dark, brooding, and driven arrangement of Schubert’s Quartet in D Minor ("Death and the Maiden").

James Judd, rejoins us to present Grammy Award-winning guitar sensation Jason Vieaux in a performance of Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranguez. The concert opens with two pieces for Strings from William Grant Still’s “Lyric Suite,” and it will close with Bizet's popular Symphony in C.

This afternoon's special, socially-distanced concert will offer a selection of works by Montgomery, Still, Finzy, Britten, and Jacobsen. The concert will run for approx. 60-70 minutes without intermission.

The Symphonia’s third live concert of the 2020-2021 season will take place in its temporary venue at the Grand Oasis Ballroom in the Boca Raton Marriott, and feature works by Purcell, Handel, Baldassare, and Holst.

VALENTINE'S DAY CONCERT

The Symphonia’s second live concert of the 2020-2021 season will take place in its temporary venue at the Grand Oasis Ballroom in the Boca Raton Marriott. All required CDC protocols will be in place, including mask wearing and social distancing, for both audience and musicians, so you can once again experience the joy of a live music performance.

This evening's special, socially-distanced concert in a new venue will offer a selection of works by Corelli, Vivaldi, Walker, and Mozart. The concert will run for approx. 60-70 minutes without intermission.

To help combat the devastating blow the pandemic has dealt to visual artists in our community, The Symphonia has partnered with regional artists, local galleries and area businesses to create ‘Symphonia of HeARTs,’ a virtual performance and art auction event.

Join us for a special celebration – A Symphony of Voices – as we honor several of South Palm Beach County’s most influential women in philanthropy.

James Judd joins the orchestra to conduct works by Zwilich and to celebrate Beethoven's 250th birthday, featuring soloists Elissa Lee Koljonen (violin) and Yumi Kendall (cello).

At today's event, children will create and learn to write basic music rhythms, learn about the composers Zwilich and Beethoven, and meet conductor James Judd and the soloists Elissa Lee Koljonen and Yumi Kendall.

Conductor James Judd will speak about the February 9 concert, featuring the enchanting work of Zwilich and Beethoven. The Symphonia will preview the pieces that will be performed, with soloists Elissa Lee Koljonen (violin) and Yumi Kendall (cello).

Carolyn Kuan leads the orchestra and violin soloist Daniel Andai in a sublime afternoon of works by Assad, Haydn, and Mendelssohn that celebrate the beauty and romance of Italy.

At today's event, children will learn about the ways that composers communicate their musical ideas to musicians, and get to meet violinist Daniel Andai.

Conductor Carolyn Kuan and violin soloist Daniel Andai will introduce the program for the January 5 concert, an evening of Assad, Haydn, and Mendelssohn, providing insight into the music that will be played.

Sound meets sight in this evening of cinematic and artistic exploration that highlights the works of Copland, Wagner and Respighi.

The 2019-2020 season, dedicated to Celebrating Women in Music, kicks off with the enthralling music of Copland, Barber, Wagner and Respighi, conducted by Alastair Willis, and featuring soprano soloist Robyn Marie Lamp.

At today's event, children will learn about parts of the staff and how to read music, as well as about  composer Samuel Barber, composer of Knoxville: Summer of 1915.

Conductor Alastair Willis will discuss the December 8 concert, where the audience will learn how the music of film, nostalgic prose, a birthday gift, and Renaissance frescoes inspired Copland, Barber, Wagner and Respighi.
