Reading the Staff

Meet the Orchestra is an interactive program for children, their parents, and their grandparents, exploring music and its instruments.

At today's event, children will learn about parts of the staff and how to read music.

The children will begin their morning by listening to Soprano Soloist, Robyn Marie Lamp perform Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with The Symphonia.

  • All attendees will have the opportunity to meet Robyn and learn more about her career.
  • The children will learn about the history of the piece, as well as how the music was written.
  •  Children will leave this program with an understanding of how musicians read music.
  • The program will conclude with a musical game.

Kind Words

Working with the Symphonia was a joy! What a flexible, sensitive group of musicians who are clearly "all in," making music at a very high level. It was a pleasure to perform with them and I look forward to future collaborations.
