Well-known in Boca Raton for both her generous philanthropy and her glamorous hat collection, Marleen Forkas is a charter member of The Symphonia’s Elite Philanthropists Circle. Following a successful career in the fashion industry as an embroidery designer with an international client base, she has devoted her time and funds to supporting a wide variety of local cultural and charitable organizations.
In addition to The Symphonia, where Marleen serves as a member of the Board of Directors, beneficiaries of her largesse include Florida Atlantic University, which awarded her FAU President’s Distinguished Service Medallion in 2008, Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, Boca Ballet Theatre, the American Heart Association, Boca Raton Museum of Art and the Marleen Forkas Camps at the Levis Jewish Community Center.
