Happy Birthday Beethoven

James Judd joins the orchestra to celebrate Beethoven's 250th birthday with works by the great master as well as Ellen Taaffe Zwilich – the first female composer to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music. The program includes Beethoven's spectacular Fifth Symphony, known for its raw power, and for the way it represents triumph over adversity.

The performance of Zwilich's Double Concerto for Violin and Cello features soloists Elissa Lee Koljonen (violin) and Yumi Kendall (cello).
