Les Roettges
Flute
Les Roettges has been the principal flute for the Jacksonville Symphony since 1986. During the summer he is the principal flute for the Eastern Music Festival and he is also a member of the six-time Emmy award-winning All-Star Orchestra, led by Maestro Gerard Schwarz.
Before winning the position in Jacksonville, Roettges performed as the principal flute for the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City, Solisti New York, and the Opera Ensemble of New York.
Roettges regularly tours with the San Marco Chamber Music Society. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory and a master’s from The Juilliard School.
