The Symphonia has announced that Sheldon Kwiat has been appointed as Board President.

While some kids can name every type of dinosaur or rattle off any sports stat, two sisters from Boca Raton have a different passion.

For June, The Symphonia Partners in the Arts features the artist Yaacov Heller. Yaacov has been rated among the world’s most accomplished sculptors and top silversmiths. His work has been used to convey messages of hope, tolerance, acceptance, remembrance, and peace through interpretation of the human form and spirit, while holding to his personal, unswerving commitment to artistic quality.

For May, The Symphonia Partners in the Arts features the artist Jane Zager. A lapidary artist and designer, Zager creates exclusive jewelry that combines precious metals with gems from around the world. Her ability to pair unusual gemstones with her chic and timeless jewelry designs is intriguing to jewelry collectors who are constantly looking for something new.

Our second month of The Symphonia Partners in the Arts will feature the artist Barbara Silver. Barbara has been painting for 15 years. She currently exhibits at the Heart of Delray Gallery, and her “abstractions” reside in public buildings and private homes in New York and Florida.

The Symphonia would like to thank all of its volunteers for their hard work and dedication. Our organization thrives thanks to these passionate individuals, who give their time and energy to bring classical music to the community.

Needless to say, the Covid-19 crisis has dealt a devastating blow to artists and arts organizations all across the country – and The Symphonia is not the only one that is facing challenges. That's why, we are once again partnering with local artists from South Florida to keep our arts community alive.

When major benefactors Virginia and Harvey Kimmel talk about supporting The Symphonia’s Building a String Orchestra and Self-Esteem program, which provides music lessons to underserved children at the Boys and Girls Club in Delray Beach, one word invariably comes up: impact.

We are proud to shine the spotlight this month on philanthropist Marleen Forkas, who has underwritten The Symphonia's prestigious Connoisseur Concert Series since April 2016.

The Covid-19 crisis is not stopping The Symphonia from continuing to help the underserved children in our community who attend The Symphonia's free, after-school outreach program at the Boys & Girls Club of Delray Beach. The program, Building a String Orchestra and Self-Esteem, has gone virtual!

Grammy-nominated conductor Alastair Willis has been named Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor of The Symphonia, South Florida’s World Class Chamber Orchestra. Willis has guest conducted with The Symphonia for the past three years, and served as Music Advisor for the orchestra’s ‘New Directions’ concert series in 2019.
